Santos Escobar teases his eventual match with WWE United States Champion Rey Mysterio.
Speaking on WWE After The Bell, Escobar was asked to share his thoughts on working with Rey Mysterio as a member of the LWO.
“He is the greatest luchador of all time,” Santos Escobar said. “I won’t struggle in saying that. I’m the best luchador alive today. Let’s be clear about something. I am the best luchador alive today. But he’s the greatest luchador of all time. That includes today and yesterday.”
Corey Graves then asked Escobar whether he is greater than Mysterio. The LWO star teased that they could find out, and they will, as Rey accepted his challenge.
“That’s something that we could find out,” Santos Escobar said. “Since he accepted my challenge, we will find out. We already had a match that didn’t end up the way that I wanted it to end. He got hurt, and that’s something that you never want in a match, especially with a legend like Rey, especially with how important he is to me personally. I would never want to hurt the man.”
Santos Escobar and Mysterio will team up on the September 22 episode of WWE SmackDown. WrestleZone will have coverage of the show as it airs.
