I was watching over Thanksgiving and three messages in that movie were crystal clear to me. The first was one of perseverance in the face of persecution. People thought Evan was a joke, a laughingstock but he stayed the course and built that ark.

The second was one of taking the first step and letting God handle it from there. Evan didn’t know where to start, but he started anyway. God supplied everything he needed. The third one was one of faith. The ark was done, the rain came but it stopped. All Evan could do at that point was have faith. His work was finished but God is never finished. and he fulfilled all His promises in the end.

Those three messages are ones to live by but the second one hit me the hardest. Getting started. Ask for the wisdom to clearly see what thoughts, attitudes, and misconceptions are keeping you from taking that important step.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to make it impossible for you to say “no”, “not yet”, “maybe someday” any longer.
