TNA IMPACT Results – January 18, 2024
The show opens with a video package highlighting Saturday’s Hard To Kill event.
X-Division Six-Way: Mike Bailey vs. KUSHIDA vs. Jake Something vs. El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Trey Miguel vs. Laredo Kid
Jake tosses Trey out of the ring to start before Vikingo dropkicks Something out as well. Kushida follows suit by diving onto Something, which leads to Bailey, Kid, and Vikingo diving out. Back inside, Trey traps Kid in a leg hold when Kushida goes for Hover Board Lock. Something gets back in and chokeslams Trey onto Kid. He then catches Vikingo, who counters with chops. Something delivers forearm shots all around to keep it just him and Vikingo inside.
Vikingo bounces up and goes on a flurry of offense. Something catches him in the air and throws him over the ropes onto a couple men. Kushida and Trey go back at it as Kushida applies Hover Board Lock. Vikingo breaks it up with a stomp. Kid hits Bailey with a Spanish Fly off the top. Something hits Kid with Into The Void and pins for the win.
Winner: Jake Something
Backstage, Gia Miller speaks to Will Ospreay ahead of his anticipated rematch against Josh Alexander. Ospreay recalls beating Josh before and has represented wrestling across the globe recently. He challenges Josh to step up tonight.
We see a new vignette for Ash By Elegance followed by highlights of Gisele Shaw winning Ultimate X at Hard To Kill. Shaw speaks and says she did what she said she was going to do. She puts Jordynne on notice when Gail Kim walks up and tries to congratulate her. Kim tells Shaw that she doesn’t need the help of the Shawntourage. Gisele ignores her and walks off.
Tasha Steelz vs. Xia Brookside
Lock up starts it before Xia rolls away for space. Xia goes back after the left arm and flips Tasha over before a dropkick. Steelz pulls out a pump kick and then grounds Xia with a brief headlock. Xia tries to power out but Steelz hits a Three Amigos and then twerks. Xia catches Tasha in a small package but then hits clotheslines. Xia plants Tasha on her face and hits running double knees in the corner, cover. Steelz comes back with a lungblower, cover. Xia catches Steelz with the Brooksie Bomb and traps her in a pinfall for the win.
Winner: Xia Brookside
We see a replay of AJ Francis chokeslamming Joe Hendry on Saturday. Backstage, Hendry calls for them to let bygones be bygones. After all, he still has DJ Whoo Kid’s laptop. It’s then revealed that Kid was taken out behind Hendry.
Frankie Kazarian & Eric Young vs. Grizzled Young Vets
EY and Gibson kick things off with an intense lockup. Drake tags in and works the left arm. Kazarian comes in with a spinning neckbreaker on Drake, followed by chops and a Side Russian Legsweep. Gibson trips up Kazarian and pulls him to the floor, allowing for Drake to dive out on the attack. Gibson stays in control and tags in Drake to take over.
Kazarian grabs at Gibson’s face in an attempt for space. He gets a chop in but Gibson uppercuts. Drake returns with a headlock. Kazarian finally strikes both men but gets cut off from tagging out. Kazarian sends Drake out but Gibson briefly takes over. Kaz suplexes Gibson but Drake pulls EY off the apron. Drake tags in, elbow drop. GYV hits an assisted sliced bread, kick out.
The ref has to prevent EY from running in. Drake leaps out of the ring to further weaken Kazarian. EY finally gets the hot tag and he double teams GYV with a flurry of offense that Gibson tries to break up. Drake kicks EY in the back of the head before Kazarian stops Sliced Bread but he accidentally clubs EY. GYV hits Grit Your Teeth on EY and Drake pins him.
