Six Flags Roller Coaster Horror As Man Plunges To Death, Captured In Souvenir Photo

A man reportedly fell to his death from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia near Atlanta on Monday, a horrific scene that was captured in a souvenir photo.

Police confirmed that one person died and several others were injured in an incident involving the ride, but did not immediately confirm how the death or injuries occurred.

“We are deeply saddened by the guest incident at our park today. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with the guest’s family, friends, and loved ones,” a Six Flags spokesperson said in a statement.

11Alive reported that the man was on the ride with a child. A witness on the coaster told the outlet that he struck other passengers as he fell before landing on the roof of a haunted house attraction.

“He was in our pictures,” the witness said, referring to the souvenir pictures available for purchase after the ride. “He fell and hit the car three different times.” Witnesses said that Six Flags workers checked the restraints before the ride began.

“The park team and local authorities responded immediately, and we are cooperating fully with local authorities as they complete their investigation,” the Six Flags spokesperson said.

The theme park added that it would not share further details “out of respect for the family’s privacy.”

The incident happened around 4 p.m., and riders were evacuated from the coaster.

A previous death following a ride on Goliath occurred in 2006, when a 45-year-old man suffered an apparent heart attack. Authorities inspected the coaster afterward and found it was operating properly.

In August, The Daily Wire reported on X2, a different coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California, after a CNN investigation linked the ride to serious injuries and two deaths. Six Flags closed X2 in July and announced in late September that it would permanently retire the ride after several lawsuits claimed it caused brain injuries.
