The first match for NXT‘s premiere on The CW has been confirmed.
NXT will officially move to The CW on October 1, and the premiere episode is set to be a buzzworthy show.
During NXT No Mercy, general manager Ava announced that the NXT Championship would be defended on the special episode. Ethan Page went on to beat Joe Hendry in the main event to retain the gold, so he will defend the title on October 1.
There is currently no word on how Page’s challenger will be determined.
As previously announced, the October 1 episode of NXT will be held at Allstate Arena in Chicago. CM Punk is set to appear on the show.
